For the fourth year, every elementary student in Grants Pass School District 7 will participate in One District, One Book. It’s a program designed by the District’s Title 1 Coordinators to create a shared reading experience across the entire school community.

The book for the 2021-22 school year is: Nim’s Island, by Wendy Orr. The book follows Nim, a modern-day Robinson Crusoe who lives on an island with her scientist dad.

Beginning Monday, April 4, students and staff will read through Nim’s Island on a shared reading schedule. Kids will read along with teachers, principals, or other special guests in class or via video, and there will be activities associated with each day’s reading. Students can also catch the question of the day on KRRM 94.7 with radio host, Jason Allen each morning. Individual schools may create additional activities associated with the reading.

One District, One Book will wrap up on Friday, April 29, 2022.
